My ability to take words and mold them, like silly putty, into catchy melodic hits is what makes me unique. ”

— Dejwe

THE HISTORY OF DEJWE

Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Yvenson Bernard, also known as Dejwe (pronounced Day-j-way), moved to the United States at the age of 6. Growing up in Tampa, FL he learned about American culture and was particularly infatuated with the music. The hypnotic sounds of Hip-hop and R&B were vastly different from Haitian Kompa and Zouk that he grew up with in Haiti.

He says “Even though my parents consistently played Haitian inspired music, I became influenced by local USA artists and as a teenager this led me to become interested in writing and expressing myself through music and lyrics”.

Dejwe is influenced by artists like Trick Daddy, Pastor Troy, Tupac and Nas. Dejwe’s taste in music progressed to other genres such as Alternative, Folk and Country. He began experimenting with his own techniques and with his wide range of taste in music, Dejwe has grown into the songwriter, producer and artist that he is today. Dejwe continues to grow and never settles until a piece has its own personality. He says “My ability to take words and mold them, like silly putty, into catchy melodic hits is what makes me unique”. His song writing abilities allow his listeners to feel the emotions of the song, whether it’s a banger or telling a story about someone who had their heart broken. Dejwe gives his listeners their release.

In 2018, Dejwe and his wife TG, founded Noir Addiction Musik Group, LLC a.k.a NAM Group based in Tampa, FL. Along with being CEO of his own music production company, artist, songwriter and executive producer, he is also his own publisher under the name of Noir Addiction Musik Group.
